Erik Larson

 

 Harbor Springs Public Schools Student Advocate, Erik Larson, MSSW, LMSW. In his role as Student Advocate, Erik provides professional support in order to help students engage and thrive in their educational experience. He offers varied services to both middle school and high school students and their families, such as individual and family counseling, early intervention to help prevent student issues with addiction, substance abuse evaluations, study and time management enhancement, career planning, as well as social and communication skills training.  He is trained as a dual diagnosis specialist in the areas of mental health and addictions.  He is licensed as a Master Social Worker with the State of Michigan. He has been in private practice for 11 years, and worked as a career advisor for Michigan State University for 6 years.

Interactive session aimed at creating more understanding in parents on how to both identify addiction warning signs and to intervene early to protect their children from the risks of using mood-altering substances.
